 ABOUT THE CONTEST:

  • This contest is open to all DMCI Homes residents, with participants ages 6 to 13 years old for children and 20 years old and above for adults.
  • DMCI Homes employees and their family members up to the second degree of consanguinity and affinity are not allowed to join the contest.
  • DMCI Homes shall have the right to use and reuse, publish and republish the entries in whole or in part, individually or in conjunction with print matter, or in composite form, and in any medium, for editorial, commercial, promotion, and/or trade purposes.
  • Winners are also subject for testimonial stories to be featured in local broadsheets, DMCI Homes websites, and social media accounts.

Interested communities may coordinate with their PMO to participate. The PMO will then submit their entry by emailing the following details to communities@dmcihomes.com:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Total running time: Maximum of 60 seconds
  • Format: MOV, or MP4
  • Video Orientation: Landscape (16:9) Edits and voice or video effects are not allowed.
  • Carolers must consist of 6 to 15 members, including a conductor and instrumentalists if applicable.
  • Participating carolers must select an entry song that differs from the pieces they will present at DMCI Communities’ Year-End Party.

Judging process:

  • Submitted videos from the preliminary judging will not affect the final score to determine the winner of the contest.
  • The preliminary judging will be conducted in the presence of two representatives from DMCI Homes Property Management Corporation (DPMC).
  • The top 5 finalists in each category will perform their Christmas caroling at the DMCI Communities Year-End Awarding Ceremony. Children carolers will present their own rendition of “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” while adult carolers will perform their version of “Carol of the Bells.”
  • Instruments may be used like guitar, piano, etc.
  • Finalists may be creative in their song interpretation and performance including the costume and choreography.
  • The presentation shall not exceed 5 minutes, 2 minutes of which will be allotted for the entrance and exit.  Two (2) points will be deducted for every excess minute.
  • The carolers have the freedom to choose the theme of their presentation, including costumes and choreography.
  • All carolers are required to follow safety protocols during the presentation. Inflammable props and inappropriate scenes are prohibited. A deduction of ten (10) points will be imposed for violations.

Voice Quality (Harmony, blending, and tone) 30%
Musicality (Interpretation, style, execution, timing, and expression)  25%
Mastery (Clarity of lyrics, message, and values of the piece)  20%
Costume 15%
Audience Impact 10%
TOTAL 100% 100
