Situated within the sprawling Acacia Estates residential township in Taguig is a worn-down house that DMCI Homes’ homebuilding experts transformed into a modern family home.
This amazing transformation is caught on video in the new online series called The Amazing Home Makeover Project.
A joint project of DMCI Homes and leading realtor Presello Realty Group, Inc., the series shows viewers the journey of DMCI Homes’ in-house team of skilled workers in creating a home that’s ideally suited for starting a new family.
The first episode of the four-part YouTube series finds DMCI Homes’ top architect, Vice President for Architectural and Interior Design Rina Soriano, telling Presello host Julia Richards her team’s vision of upgrading the three-story home in Mahogany Place 1 subdivision while touring around the tree-lined roads of the Acacia Estates’ community.
With The Amazing Home Makeover Project, Rina says DMCI Homes hopes to share to aspiring homeowners and the design and construction enthusiasts, what the company has learned over the years about quality homebuilding and construction management.
Like any other renovation project however, DMCI Homes experts also had to deal with several challenges along the way.

Interior designer Aya Villasis, who is in charge of decorating the house, says that walls were already dilapidated, and rainwater was leaking from the ceiling before they got any work done. The third floor likewise went through major reconstruction to correct some structural concerns.
Good thing, she notes, DMCI Homes has in-house experts who can work seamlessly together to create beautiful projects such as the Design & Engineering, Interior Design, Fit-out, and Landscaping teams.
Deteriorated areas and all, remnants of its modern structure can still keep the audience in awe. High ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows allow sunlight to brighten up the foyer.
To highlight this feature, the DMCI Homes’ construction team designed a TV wall that complements the size of the ceiling. All the TV walls, Aya reveals, are made by the company’s in-house Fit-out team.
Even before Aya discloses the theme, the light and airy feel of the whole place makes it easy for the audience to guess it’s coastal luxe.
After a short tour, the audience is led to the second floor, where the master bedroom resides, and the third floor, which Aya describes as “the heart of the house.” This soon-to-be-family room is complete with balconies on both sides—which can be made into a mini-garden. The 40.57-sqm room will be adorned with a big TV and floor-to-ceiling curtains for privacy.
As Aya discusses the renovation plans, she also gives practical design tips and techniques which may prove helpful for those who are planning to renovate their home.
So be sure to check the First Episode and the Episode 1 Director’s Cut to watch the house’s amazing transformation and also get design and homebuilding tips from the experts along the way.
