La Verti Residences “A Special Date with Lolo and Lola”

Category : Miscellaneous

Oftentimes we focus on helping the young rather than the old. The young needs special attention since they need to be cared for and guided carefully for them to become upright citizens of the future. What we sometimes overlook is that the elderly also need the same level of care and guidance that children require. That’s why the La Verti Residences PMO and council members organized a special day for the elderly at the Anawim Home for God’s Poor.

From the Hebrew word anawim which means “God’s poor”, Brother Bo Sanchez founded this home. Originally planned as a retreat center, the home has been turned into a haven for the abandoned elderly. The home currently houses 75 elderly people.

“A Date with Lolo and Lola” is an outreach activity organized by the La Verti Residences team. The goal is to be able to help the less fortunate while giving unit owners an opportunity to get involved in community service.

The day is filled with dancing, games, and gift giving which put smiles on the elderly people’s faces. It has been a fun day for everyone.

This wonderful day serves as a reminder that we could help the people around us and at the same time foster camaraderie within our community.
