To most kids, summer is the time of the year to play non-stop computer games, watch unlimited shows on TV, and enjoy staying up on the wee hours of the night before school year starts. But in Arista Place, the kids have other things in mind.
Arista Place Homeowners Florence Subido and husband Henry Subido, has thought of using the kids’ summer energy into something that will benefit them in the future. With this in mind, she and her husband came up with a Basketball Camp right in their own community.
Open to all kids of Arista Place aged 6 and up, the Basketball Camp encouraged kids to hone their talents in the said sport. And hone they did, with Mr. Subido as head coach, who was helped by Joel Palapal, a friend coach from a High School Basketball team, these kids got fueled and pumped up every training.
At the end of the camp, a Recognition and Graduation Ceremony was held to appreciate the hardwork and participation of all the kids who joined. Led by the couple Subido, Palapal, and assisted by DMCI Homes Marketing team, the ceremony successfully took place in Arista Place Function Hall last May 21.
VIPs also attended the event, led by Parañaque City Councilor Binky Favis, a former PBA coach. He attended the event together with his wife, and two kids, each with interest in the same sport.
Some of the big attendees are real-life Basketball players: PBA players Wynne Arboleda, Harold Arboleda and Juneric Baloria joined the event geared with inspiring messages to share to the kids.
After the ceremonies, kids got fired up with fun games — and more basketball of course!
We thank all the kids joined the camp, their parents, and all the people who made the event a huge success.
