Create That Luxury Spa Feel In Your Condo Bathroom

Miscellaneous.

The bathroom is that part of the house that can single-handedly define the people living in it. Is the bathroom so untidy and muddled that you’d think cavemen live in it, or so spotless and sparkling you’d think Martha Stewart just cleaned it? If you want to know what kind of people run a house, go see their bathrooms.

Some people have serious fixations on bathrooms. Some admire luxurious hotel bathrooms; their jaws drop upon realizing one can totally sleep in Beyonce’s bathroom.

But the truth is, celebrity bathrooms have a bigger square footage than your entire house. Condo bathrooms are usually less than 10 sqm, so Beyonce’s tub or jacuzzi does not really have a place there. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have a more than decent bathroom. You probably can’t make it any bigger but you can maximize your condo space and transform it into a place where you can relax after a long day. In fact, you can have your own home spa right in your bathroom. Here’s how.

Choose your scent

You know you are in a spa just by the smell of it. Is it mint? Lavender? Lemon zest? Bamboo? Jasmine?

Whatever it is, the establishment smells really nice and that’s what matters. Decide on your preference when it comes to scent. Whether you like it strong or soft, imposing or romantic, there is always something for everyone. You can use oil diffusers or even scented candles if you want.

Scents are said to boost one’s mood and health, so don’t underestimate its effects. Choose a scent that would calm and soothe you in such a way that when you step inside the bathroom, you’ll feel calm and peaceful.

Perfect the lighting

Do you still use bright daylight bulbs in your bathrooms? It’s time you change that to something warmer and softer. There’s a reason some people even use candles inside bathrooms—warm lights provide a softer ambience. The perfect lighting tends to relax your senses and helps you slow down.

Stock up on spa indulgences

Pamper yourself with your favorite spa products such as sheet masks and body scrubs. You can even make your own spa favorites using kitchen ingredients and organic materials.Store them in cute bottles or glass jars. Pack up in essential oils, which are also perfect for massages, to hydrate and moisturize your skin. Display your supplies in open shelves to remind you to pamper yourself every now and then.

Go for an earthy palette

For a more organic feel, paint your bathroom walls with nature-inspired colors such as light greens and browns. The closer to earth your palette is, the more you feel one with nature, which is a requirement if you want to create your own home spa.

But if you have a small bathroom, opt for a lighter color scheme such as beige and pale gray to make the space feel bigger. As with small condo room design, light colors tend to open up a space and revitalize the senses for a lighter mood. You can also add natural elements such as wood and stones, and potted plants to complete the Zen experience.

Upgrade your shower head

For small condo bathrooms that can’t accommodate bulky tubs, the shower area becomes the focal point. This means you should invest in high-quality shower accessories. Choose a rain or massage shower head for a luxurious shower experience.Install a hot and cold shower and enjoy a warm bath before going to bed every night.

Touch and texture

Add texture to your condo bathroom design with soft floor mats, cozy bath towels, and a luxurious robe. Floor mats add glam to any bathroom, while white soft absorbent towels neatly folded and stored in a shelf or rack have hotel luxury written all over it. A fluffy bathrobe can make anyone feel like a million dollars.

You may also want to warm your towels to wrap up a hot bath. If you don’t have the budget for a towel warmer, you can just soak them in hot water.

Meditate with music

To complete the spa experience, bring calming Zen music into the equation. There are a lot of waterproof, wireless Bluetooth speakers that you can use in the bathroom. You can also create your own meditation playlist to help you relax while you scrub your body or take a warm shower. The natural sound of the waves, rainfall, and water crashing against the rocks are good, relaxing sounds. Just like in a real spa, music helps set the mood and put your mind to rest.

Clean up and declutter

What’s the one common thing among spas? They don’t have clutter. Remember that clutter gives you stress, which is the complete opposite of what you are trying to achieve with a spa-like bathroom. Clear the cabinet and counter space by getting rid of old and expired toiletries, then arrange the contents properly.

Be creative when it comes to storage. You don’t need to have bulky cabinets in your bathroom; they only take up precious floor space. Bins, baskets, hooks, and racks that can be mounted on walls are good condo space saving ideas you can incorporate in your bathroom.

That luxury spa experience can always be recreated in your own home. Your condo bathroom, no matter how small, can be transformed into a home spa with just a few, inexpensive essentials. Just be a little creative and you can have pampering sessions at home every single day.
